Summary A skilled nursing and long-term care facility in New Orleans is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM evening shift, Monday through Friday. Competitive hourly pay of $30–$33 per hour with a full benefits package. Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current LPN license in Louisiana. Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, monitoring residents, and coordinating with the nursing team. Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care to residents in a skilled nursing / long-term care setting. - Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule, per physician orders and facility policy. - Monitor residents' condition, vital signs, and response to care; escalate changes to the charge nurse or physician promptly. - Document care, observations, and incidents accurately in the resident record. - Coordinate with the nursing team, CNAs, therapy, and dietary staff to deliver the plan of care. - Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including resident and family education. - Assist with wound care, catheter care, tube feedings, and other treatments within the LPN scope of practice. - Follow infection-control, safety, and resident-rights standards at all times. - Maintain compliance with facility policy, state long-term care regulations, and Louisiana nursing practice requirements. Qualifications - Must be a U.S. citizen. - Must hold a current, unencumbered LPN license in the State of Louisiana. - Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. - Current CPR/BLS certification preferred. - Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior living setting is a plus (new graduates with a current Louisiana LPN license are welcome to apply). - Availability for the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM evening shift, Monday through Friday. - Strong clinical judgment, accuracy with medication administration, and careful documentation. - Compassionate, professional communication with residents, families, and the care team. - Ability to manage confidential resident health information with discretion.
